Books

Sorin loves his books.  I've read books to him since he was born so I think that has ensured a positive response to them.  We read, mostly, before he goes to bed or down for a nap.  We also read when he is getting whiney or antsy, or when we are at the doctor's office and he won't sit still, or...  you get the picture.  His love for books really began when he discovered that the cardboard books are chewy and when you chew at them enough you can even get a little piece in your mouth.  But I think that it goes beyond that.  I have other books, my favorites, Beatrix Potter, and he does not tolerate even the first page.  Or Winnie the Pooh, Dr. Suess, or Lauren Child with her Charlie and Lola (and Lola's imaginary friend Soren Lorenson) books.  No, No, and No.  It is only brightly colored cardboard books for this boy...  Hans and I literally get Goodnight Moon stuck in our head as we find ourselves reading it over and over and... over. Here are his top three right now:

Goodnight Moon
Farm Animals
And Little Duck
Little Duck isn't looking so good...

He is losing interest now with chewing the books as looking at the pictures and turning the pages are much more interesting.  But I do catch him, from time to time, taking a little nibble:
