A Week In Florida

Sorin has had an interesting adjustment to Florida. He hasn't slept well at all. He wakes up in the middle of the night and it takes awhile for him to calm down and get back to sleep. We've tried everything, and he just doesn't respond to being in my (Hans') arms - he needs mom. So sleep has been tough.

As I noted in the last post, he didn't like the pool at first - it scared him. And at his first day at the beach I think the wind scared him, too. There's just been a lot of new stuff going on here but Sorin's just taking it all in. And he really does take it in. It's so fun to see him analyze and process things - he stares a lot.

One thing we thought would happen on this trip was him getting more familiar with the Roberston family. He sees my mom every Friday, and you can tell. But to have Steve and Sue, Grant, Tori and Jes here every day all day has been good for Sorin.

Here's some of the memories we've captured:

More pool time - he really likes the water now.

Grandpa had him in the mirror at Dan and Kathy's for dinner one night.

Tori seems to always get great pictures with Sorin.

How cute are those sunglasses?

Katie's still reading Good Night Moon - it's even better on the patio in the fresh Florida air overlooking the ocean.

It's blurry, but here's our darkest guest with our lightest guest - smiles all around.

For complete coverage of our Destin vacation, check out Hans' album at Facebook - you don't need to have an account to view this album, but you should get on Facebook.

Hello Hans and family...it is Katrina (Hans' friend from HS). Your son is just beautiful and I am so happy for you. Hans, I always knew you would make a wonderful father and it is wonderful to see it manifest itself through your pictures and words! Our first vacation with our son around the same age was a sleep nightmare too! Not quite a "vacation" but tons of fun in the end! We have a blog too at angelignacio@blogspot.com! What a small world!
